Hydrangea macrophylla Masja

Masja has glowing red flowers which turn metallic antique tones as they fade.  Purple tones in acid soils.  It is a lovely compact plant growing to around waist height with rich healthy foliage.  Fantastic in pots or raised planters or in the garden.  One of the best reds for tub culture.

Bold blue lacecaps flowers on a tall upright bush with rich green foliage.  The “best” of the large blue lacecaps. Tolerates sun and coastal conditions. Good for drying. Looks great planted in drifts in shady dells.

Hydrangea macrophylla opuloides

Neat white and blue lacecaps flowers on a modest size bush. Scented flowers. They look great mass planted in a woodland setting. Thought to be one of the original hydrangea forms.

Hydrangea macrophylla Otaksa

An old old Japanese variety with glossy wind hardy leaves. Otaksa forms a big bold plant with massive mophead flowers. The creamy flowers have the faintest shade of blue in acid soils and the softest hint of pink in lime soils. Good for drying, flowers antique pink or green.  Coastal, wind and sun tolerant.

Hydrangea macrophylla Seafoam

Hydrangea macrophylla Seafoam

Thought to be the wild form of H. macrophylla. The original wild plants were found growing by the coast, hence its name. The bold blue and white lacecap flowers are pleasantly scented and can be up to 30cm across. Will tolerate sun, shade, and wind including salt laden. Looks great planted in drifts under trees.
