An old old Japanese variety with glossy, wind hardy leaves. Otaksa forms a big bold plant with massive mophead flowers. The creamy flowers have the faintest shade of blue in acid soils and the softest hint of pink in lime soils. Good for drying, flowers antique pink or green. Coastal and wind tolerant. Petals can burn in full sun.

Frilly, starry florets, often bearing three different coloured heads at one time. Rosy pink, rich magenta to light sea-blue. Quite stunning as it changes colours in autumn to antique rose and purple. Good for cut flower and drying. Needs a shady situation.
