Hydrangea arborescens Annabelle
An outstanding shrub with very large white flower-heads which turn green in late summer, making them popular for cutting or drying. A good variety for cooler parts of NZ, it will still produce flowers on new stems if plant is damaged during winter due to snow and frost. It requires semi-shade and a sheltered location to protect the large blooms from wind. Can be susceptible to root disease, this is more prevalent when planted in wet soil, with humid conditions.
