UNIQUE plant. Bloody Marvellous has rich dark chocolate foliage and superb blood-red mophead flowers that gradually turn wine-purple. In Europe this is called Merveille Sanguine which translates as Blood-coloured Marvel. It can be a little tender and does prefer a light shade situation to prevent petal burn.

An old old Japanese variety with glossy, wind hardy leaves. Otaksa forms a big bold plant with massive mophead flowers. The creamy flowers have the faintest shade of blue in acid soils and the softest hint of pink in lime soils. Good for drying, flowers antique pink or green. Coastal and wind tolerant.
