Fairy Blush is a local Taranaki variety, selected and named by Mark Jury. It forms a beautiful shrub covered with masses of tiny pink buds in early winter, which open to small white flowers with a flush of pink.  The flowers continue opening in succession over a long period through winter and early spring. It prefers shelter from strong wind. A great hedge plant.

Native of the eastern coast of Australia.  A tropical looking cabbage tree with lovely blue flowers and dark green (purple in shade) strap like leaves.   An upright, clump forming plant which grows well in a tub; planted as a specimen or for that tropical look. Foliage popular for cut flower.  Will grow in full sun or shade, and will tolerate moderate frosts and coastal wind.

Francoa sonchifolia (Bridal Wreath) An evergreen, herbaceous perennial from Chile, South America. The leaves are furry, lobed, and dark green; and form a low clump approx. 30cm in height. The flowers arise in upright spikes (racemes) approx. 70cm high, covered with pale pink flowers with a deeper pink vein. They like either full sun or part shade, and are frost tolerant.  A good cut flower.

This species is a relative of the hydrangea and is very similar to the climbing hydrangea. It has very large creamy white lacecap flowers with a rose blush. Brilliant climber for a difficult shady site, though will flower better if in a sunny site. Frost hardy.
