Hydrangea quercifolia Snow Queen
A lovely single-flowered quercifolia, the perfect cones of white flowers turn delightful pink with age. It has big bold oak-shaped leaves which turn rich crimson and purple providing a stunning autumn display. The colours are more intense if grown in full sun. Will handle full sun, though prefers semi-shade in hot climates. Can be susceptible to root disease, this is more prevalent when planted in wet soil, with humid conditions.

One of my favourite white hydrangeas. The tidy mophead flowers open cream, become pure white gradually taking on a pink tinge then red then red wine or green depending on light levels. It forms a beautiful shrub covered with masses of tiny pink buds in early winter, which open to small white flowers with a flush of pink.
